It is with a heavy heart that we let you know that our beloved former Principal, Mr. Ben Ramirez, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. Mr. Ramirez had a long career in education. Lucky for the Bulldogs, we had him as our Principal from 1997 – 2002. He will be remembered as always putting his heart into the school, his students and staff.
Some comments on his passing;
“He was one of the best principals I ever worked for and the sole reason I moved to California from Indiana” – Courtney Cook, former PHS teacher
“My Boss! He will be missed. Never missed a game” – Timothy Tucker, former PHS basketball coach
“A great teacher, principal and man. I learned so much from him and his leadership. He was always sharing ways I could grow to improve and support students.” – Dr. Lawton Gray, former PHS teacher and current Principal, John Muir High School.
“Ben was a superior educator. Both as an instructor and supervisor. Listened, offered advice, laughed at jokes (especially his). He is what many teachers are expecting when they enter education or wish for once they’re in.” – Jack Loos, former PHS teacher and CIS Principal.
Mr. Ramirez is and will always be a cherished member of the Bulldog family. Once a Bulldog, always a Bulldog!
